Journey Though the Cosmos Announced

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra has announced this exciting project linking music and science in Brisbane in November 2014.   Jack has collaborated with the QSO in putting this week of events together.

The main event features Dario Marianelli's new Voyager Violin Concerto written for Jack and the QSO alongside a lecture about the Solar System with superstar physicist and TV personality Professor Brian Cox. This is followed by Holst's Planets performed by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Johannes Fritsch and will take place in Brisbane's QPAC.

The week will also feature other lectures with Jack and Prof Brian Foster performing their renowned Einstein's Universe lecture and a lecture on the physics of time alongside Messiaen Quartet for the End of Time with Prof Cox.  Journalist and broadcaster Stephen Johnson will give lectures illuminating Holst's Planets Suite and discussing the work of Oscar and Golden Globe winning composer Dario Marianelli.
